Microsoft Rolls Out Compact Mode, Game Management Options and More for All Windows PC Users; New Mobile App Features Out in Beta

Xbox has announced the introduction of the compact mode feature, initially available only to Xbox Insiders. However, it has now been rolled out to all PC players, along with management options and additional features.

Game Management Options

Regarding management options, you can now download and install all your game add-ons in one go. This feature allows you to view all the add-ons at once. To use this new feature, simply right-click on any installed game in your library. Then, select “Manage” and go to the new “Add-ons” section.

The Xbox Mobile App

Xbox is bringing features from the PC app to the mobile app, but these updates will initially be available only for Xbox members on mobile, with plans to expand to all users later. The announcement noted, “As part of these changes, we will no longer support new downloads of the Xbox Game Pass app, starting in November.”

The main features of the Xbox App on mobile include the ability to manage your membership while exploring your library. Furthermore, members with the Ultimate Tier of Game Pass will have the ability to claim and view perks. Ultimate Game Pass users can also stream select games through Xbox Cloud Gaming on their iOS or Android devices via a supported browser.

The app also includes features such as sharing game clips, screenshots, comparing progress, and making video calls while gaming and more. Additionally, you can install games on your console through the app, even if you’re not physically present.

Xbox Consoles Pre-Download Feature

Moreover, players no longer have to wait for game updates to download, as they can start playing as soon as the update goes live. There are also wish list notifications that alert you on your console when a game from your wish list is released.
