The Los Angeles level in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 requires you to start an Earthquake event. Not only is this a challenge goal for the level, it also opens up new areas. In fact, it’s pretty much required to be able to do some of the other challenges, too. If you want to get all the goals here, this is a must! Read on, we’ll tell you how to get that earthquake going.
How to Start the Earthquake in Los Angeles | Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4

To do this challenge, you’ll need to grind on 4 specific red rails on the Los Angeles level. The first such rail is to your left as soon as you start the level. You just need to jump toward it and perform any grind trick all along the rail!

If you do it correctly, you’ll get a blue trick on your combo as well as a special pop-up. You can see the “Easterntremor!” trick and “Eastern Quake Rail” pop-up as an example on the screenshot above. This works the same for all 4 rails, they just have different names depending on their location.
Now, these rails can be finicky to register. Ideally, try to make sure that you grind the rail from start to finish. It seems to be the most consistent way of checking them off. Alternatively, you can start grinding and then jump to start a second grind trick. Either way, just try to cover as much of the rail in one go as you can. Anyway, moving on to the next rail!

As soon as you land from the Eastern Quake Rail, turn to your right. You’ll see another red rail by the street there, just grind it up!

Next, turn right after getting off the Southern Quake Rail. This time, the red rail is going uphill next to the street. Grind all over it, as you have before.

Lastly, go to the library on the upper end of the Northern Quake Rail. Grind the red rail that goes across the library’s entrance. That should be the last one, starting the Earthquake event!
So, there you have it, that’s how to start the Earthquake in Los Angeles in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4. This will change the level’s layout, giving you access to more areas and challenges!
